In a week’s time, Euro Bus Expo opens at the NEC in Birmingham, and you will find us on stand 154. This year our message to visitors is short: we can fix that.
Operators: spending more time exporting timetables than scheduling?
Schedulers should be scheduling. Yet the same timetable often has to be exported, checked and re-exported for BODS, the AVL system, journey planners and printed publicity – each in its own format and profile, and each another chance for the versions to drift apart.
We can fix that. Our Timetable Management Platform takes the timetable once, validates it, and creates every export from one version-controlled record. It is what Stagecoach now does across all of its UK operating companies with its ‘Gold Standard’ TransXChange.
Authorities: spending more time chasing timetables than planning?
Franchising and enhanced partnerships bring authorities closer to the timetable than ever. Too often, that means chasing operators for files, reconciling versions and checking what is actually running against what was agreed.
We can fix that. One controlled record, shared by authority and operators, with every version tracked in time – so planning starts from data everyone agrees on, and contract reporting rests on a version both sides accept. Our Bus-News Magazine feature, One Timetable. One Truth., sets out why it matters, and the platform can be bought directly through G-Cloud 15.
Something else?
If your timetable problem is not on either list, bring it anyway – whether it is Bus Open Data, NeTEx fares, data standards, or getting the systems you already have to work together.
