Timetable data management and publishing

One timetable.
One truth.

Our Timetable Management Platform brings public-transport timetable data into one controlled, dependable record – validated as it arrives, version-controlled as it changes, and published automatically to every system that needs it.

For operators, local authorities and transport planners.

From transport data to consistent output, across every channel Several separate incoming data lines converge into a single validated record, labelled validation, version control and automated publishing. From there, four identical lines fan out to passenger apps, operator systems, open data feeds and printed publicity – the same data, delivered consistently to every channel, digital or print, regardless of the format each one needs. The problem

Timetable data rarely arrives as a single, settled version

The same service can be described differently by different systems, teams and suppliers – and each change, correction and re-import creates another candidate version.

When it is unclear which version is authoritative, effort goes into reconciling spreadsheets and chasing discrepancies instead of improving services. Errors that reach publication then surface as poor passenger information.

What that looks like day to day

  • Competing versions of the same timetable in circulation
  • Manual checks repeated at every handover
  • Stop and NaPTAN data drifting out of step with services
  • Uncertainty about what was published, and when
  • Corrections that are hard to trace back to a source
How it works

Controlled data flow, from source to every channel

The platform governs how timetable data changes, in three steps – so there is always one record you can point to and defend.

Validation

Timetable files are checked as they arrive – against the standards and profiles, and against any local rules you set. Anything that does not meet them is sent back, with the reason, before it can reach a journey planner, printed publicity or a contract.

Version control

Timetables change constantly and unevenly – publicity data perhaps once a year, operational data every week. The platform tracks where every version sits in time, whether an urgent fix, a routine change or a short-lived special, and which systems need it.

Automated publishing

Updates go out automatically, immediately or on your schedule, in the form each downstream system expects – including how it handles exceptional dates such as bank holidays, school terms and market days.

Where it fits

Between the systems you already have

The platform does not replace your scheduling, ticketing, journey-planning or real-time systems. It sits between them as the single source they all draw on – in place of the tangle of bespoke point-to-point interfaces that grows up between suppliers.

Vendor-agnostic

We do not compete with the suppliers of the systems we connect. That is what lets us sit in the middle of them.

Formats each system expects

TransXChange, NeTEx and the rest all have profiles and extensions that vary between suppliers. We maintain the export rules so each system receives the timetable in a form it understands.

One version, everywhere

Every system working from the same timetable revision at the same time – so reporting against a contract rests on a version everyone agrees on.

Why it matters

Dependable data is the foundation of dependable information

Passenger information, operational decisions and contractual reporting all draw on the same underlying timetable record. Getting that record right, once, improves everything built on top of it.
