We are pleased to announce the launch of our NaPTAN API, which adheres to Open API v3 standards and incorporates OIDC + PKCE security.
Built on NaPTAN v2.4, the API enables straightforward read access to the comprehensive NaPTAN datasets maintained by Local Authorities and distributed by the Department for Transport. It features search capabilities allowing users to discover Stop Points and Stop Areas using location data, Common Name and other identifying attributes.
We have also developed a basic map-based NaPTAN Viewer to illustrate the API’s primary features.
Beyond read functionality, the API provides full write access, positioning it as a potential back-end for NaPTAN Editors and management tools.
