National Operator Codes

As part of the DfT Bus Open Data Service programme, operators will have to upload or publish their timetables using a new TransXChange profile. (More about this in our recent article.)

A key benefit of the new profile is that services can be uniquely identified across the whole of Great Britain – and this is possible due to the mandatory use of National Operator Codes.

However, since many operators (especially smaller operators) have not previously used these codes, they need a way to look them up!
